Apple-y Goodness

Welcome to my cooking show. Today we will be making Apple Crisp. Just follow these simple steps to a wonderful apple-y goodness!

Step 1: Find recipe (the one your mom has always used is most tasty).
Step 2: Find a really neat bowl. Note that neat part of step is optional.

Step 3: Get apples. Ones grown close to home are best.

Step 4: Peel and cut apples into interesting patterns. Fancy apple corer is optional, though highly recommended for people with knife problems.

Step 5: Clean up apple cores. Or leave them on your counter. This step is really up to the individual. Composting highly recommended.

Step 6: Sprinkle cinnamon onto apple pieces. How much cinnamon? More than the photo below.Step 7: Turn on oven to the apples preference. These apples like 350 (something about a lucky number).

Step 8: Get rest of ingredients from cupboard.

Step 9: Mix dry ingredients together in a very shiny bowl. Shine optional.

Step 10: Pack dry ingredients ontop of apples to resemble the surface of the moon (planet surface may also resemble Mars.)

Step 11: Set timer to 40 minutes and cook until the apple-y goodness turns into warm apple-y goodness. Enjoy!

Lazy Days

Sooooo....I'm a slacker. What else can I say? I took some photos yesterday, but again, didn't feel like sitting at the computer instead of being outside. Now if only they invented a small, portable computer I could take outside with me........

I WILL post some photos tomorrow. Promise. (Right before I go on vacation and won't be around the internet for 8 days.)

A Fine Specimen

Ok, so I'm slightly cheating today. I decided to go to bed early last night (because 11:30pm is "early"). I traded sleep for photo editing. It was actually a good bargain, so I couldn't say no.

But so noone starts to pout, I grabbed some photos I took a while ago of the poochriffic dog since you can't have too many photos of such a cute specimen.

Busy Busy (and Tired)

No photos today, didn't get to the computer at home for the past couple nights. Busy working on our kitchen (and not getting to bed until after midnight).

Ice Ice Baby

Another recent purchase, a crystal vase to add to our bowl in the Glacier set.

New front door mat, one of our exciting purchases a few days ago!

Nestle, as in the chocolate company. Since our resident frog was dubbed Hershey, I thought Nestle was fitting for the gardener snake climbing our tree.

Note that my camera is acutally a video camera with a normal photo function, so it had some trouble focusing with all the green.

Follow the Yellow Brick Road

The yellow is missing and there are no Munchkins but I like the photo for making our backyard path look way longer than it really is.

Down by the Bay

I don't know why the boathouses caught my eye. Perhaps it was the brightly coloured door, perhaps the plainness of the buildings. Maybe I just wanted to make them feel better because they are hardly ever the centre of any photo attention.

Road Tripping

It seems it is harder than you would think to capture a certain scene from a moving vehicle. I did however get a really great shot of the tall rocks by the road, only to notice when loading them onto the computer that it had a well placed lamp post, right in the centre of the photo. Alas, the world can't always be posed, and light posts don't bend out of the shot when asked.

(I haven't uploaded the lamp post shot, incase you were looking in the below photo for it.)

Gull of the Sea

So it's not a sea. And nobody appreciates Gulls. But these guys were strutting their stuff asking to have some photos taken for their portfolios.
The not so famous (up and coming models) seagulls.

As the Sun Goes Down

The Bay is awesome looking as the sun goes down. And a well placed sailboat adds that extra interest.
